Shifting photo-stationary light-induced excited spin state trapping equilibrium towards higher temperature by increasing light fluence

The Light-Induced Excited Spin-State Trapping (LIESST) process allows tuning the electronic state of spin-crossover materials from low (LS) to high spin (HS) states. photoinduced HS is long-lived, up a characteristic temperature, T(LIESST), above which system relaxes rapidly LS state. We study effect light irradiance on competing → up-conversion and thermal relaxation [Fe(phen)2(NCS)2] system. Raman spectroscopy magnetic measurements are used investigate this phenomenon. An empiric model describes competition between conversion mechanisms stabilization photo-stationary towards higher temperature.
